[When the camera turns on, it doesn't show a face. Rather, it shows an Absol pattering around on the ground in front of the man who is holding the Poketech- all you can see of him are his dark black dress shoes and dark pants.]
You know, I never expected anything like this ever to happen to me.
[The voice that can be heard off camera is slightly amused, though incredibly dry and soft-spoken.]
I've been through a lot in my life. But waking up in a world where people use creatures with powers to fight every single battle for them isn't one of them.
[The Absol pauses and looks up, flicking its tail back and forth silently.]
[The man huffs.] Makes you think about how normal your life can be when taken out of context, right? Maybe they have to redefine what "normal" is in the dictionary now. Bet that would make a lot of people mad, though. Because if there's one thing I've learned, it's that people aren't ever used to change.
[ACTION FOR NEW BARK TOWN]
[Well, saying that today was a rude awakening was quite the understatement.]
[Even though Reese hardly ever slept (a remnant of his training, operatives always had to be kept on their toes), being awakened by a strange woman out of nowhere was quite shocking, to say the least.]
[In fact, he had pinned her against the wall and demanded to know who she was and why she was there. And then the strangeness of the entire situation. Apparently, she was his mother. And there was something about Pokemon. And trying to catch these Pokemon things and go on a journey. And by the time Reese had let go of her and was trying to figure this whole thing out, he had a box lunch shoved at him and was basically kicked out of the house.]
[But this didn't dissuade Reese from trying to find things out. After a while, he had gathered quite a good amount of information from the posts on the Poketch and being friendly to the local townspeople.]
[But even with all the information he had gathered, he still had no idea why he was here, how he had come to be here, and if there was any chance of returning to New York at all.]
[People in New Bark Town might notice an unassuming-looking middle-aged man in a suit with graying hair and the greyest of eyes hanging out by one of the houses with his Absol nearby, ticking away at the Poketch with a slight frown.]
[Bother him? He won't, you know, punch you till next Wednesday. Or maybe he will. Hard to tell, with a man like John Reese. You never know what's going to come from him next.]

[And then a pause.] So, tell me. What exactly is "normal" supposed to be around this place? Most of you, it seems, have already gone native...so any facts and tips would be greatly appreciated.
